Off-Road Driving Policy

Off-Road Driving Policy

Important Notice

The farther you drive away from main roads and the deeper you go into remote and challenging areas, the more difficult, time-consuming, and in some cases impossible it may be for us to provide assistance in the event of a breakdown, accident, or emergency.

We do not want to limit your freedom to explore nature. However, please keep in mind that help may not always be available in remote and hard-to-reach locations.

The more challenging the route, the higher the risk and the longer the response time for assistance.

Is off-road driving allowed?

Yes, we allow controlled and responsible off-road driving with our vehicles. Our vehicles are suitable for challenging road conditions; however, they are not designed for extreme off-road use or pushing mechanical limits.

We are happy for you to explore Georgia’s mountainous and natural regions. That said, we expect driving to remain within reasonable limits and to be conducted in a way that does not harm the vehicle or the environment.

Please remember that off-road driving naturally involves higher risks, and irresponsible use can lead to significant wear or damage. To keep this freedom available for all guests, we kindly ask you to drive carefully and responsibly.

Which off-road routes are allowed?

The following types of use are permitted:

  • Marked and commonly used off-road roads shown on maps
  • Dirt and gravel roads leading to campsites, remote villages, or natural attractions
  • Non-asphalt roads used for transportation from point A to point B
  • Well-known regional routes (e.g. main access roads in Tusheti, Vashlovani, Svaneti)

Roads may be rough, uneven, or unpaved; the key requirement is that they are defined and regularly used routes.

Which uses are not allowed?

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Intentionally driving into mud pits
  • Deep water crossings, river or stream fording
  • Rock crawling, steep climbs, or off-track driving
  • Dense forest routes without a defined road
  • Clearly unsafe, heavily damaged, or flood-destroyed roads
  • Any use likely to cause the vehicle to get stuck or suffer mechanical damage
  • Racing, rallying, or any competitive driving
  • Driving solely to “test limits” or for challenge purposes

Just because a route appears in a guide or old track does not mean it is always safe. Conditions can change.

Insurance and liability

Our vehicles are insured for accidents occurring during off-road driving under appropriate conditions. However, the following are not covered by insurance:

  • Mechanical failures
  • Underbody damage (chassis, oil pan, axles, etc.)
  • Water-related damage
  • Off-road recovery, towing, or winching costs

Any costs arising from these situations are the responsibility of the renter.

Important advice

General rule: If a road is marked on a map and leads to a destination, it is usually acceptable. If your goal is simply to push limits or challenge the vehicle, it is not.

If you are unsure about a route, we strongly recommend contacting us via WhatsApp before proceeding. A short message can prevent serious problems.
